RELEVANT FOOTSTEPS STATEMENT OF FAITH adopted by the Board of Directors September 12, 2010 The Vision Relevant Footsteps exists to demonstrate the love of Christ to Americans in difficult circumstances and thereby to cultivate and deepen the Christian faith of both its participants and recipients.
"I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me ... Then the King will answer, 'I tell you the truth, anything you did for even the least of my people here, you also did for me.' " Matt. 25:35-40 Statement of Faith Because God has poured out His love in our hearts by the Holy Spirit, the Board of Relevant Footsteps believes the following are foundational truths that express that love and save lives now and forever:
We believe in one Triune God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, Who has always existed and will continue to exist, Master of all.
We believe people were created in God's image, to live in holy covenant with Him. We have all broken this covenant by our sin, and are all responsible to God for our own sin.
We believe that salvation and an entrance into a state of fellowship with God are secured only by a personal belief that Christ bore our sins in His own body on the cross and by baptism into Christ, through the Person of the Holy Spirit, into one's inner being.
We believe in the Virgin Birth and the Deity of Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, whose death on the cross made atonement for the sin of the world, and whose bodily resurrection insures the resurrection of all believers who have received God's gift of eternal life.
We believe that Christ will return again in power and glory to earth fulfilling the Word of God, comprised of the sixty-six books of the Bible originally given, the supreme and final authority of faith and life.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by Whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to witness, work and live a godly life.
We believe that we are called to follow the example of Christ, (the embodiment of God's grace, mercy and love,) Who came to this world not to be served but to serve.
